Self-portraiture for me unfolded as a way to release my creative tensions that might be unconventional for my regular client work. It feels like the only way to be vulnerable and release my insecurities as a Latina Woman in this world. It started small but has taken on a new meaning and force. Many of my clients are women who inspire me with their personal stories of work and broad business endeavors. I have found that most find it challenging to be in front of a camera. I realized that quickly by placing myself as my subject. I can relate to the challenges of being photographed as I continue forward. I know the exact feeling you feel when you stand in front of my camera. I force myself to document my story because I believe it is important. Documenting our stories is essential for our brand, culture, business, and families. Down the road, when all we have left are memories, I want my children to remember the force behind my camera!
